Academic Calendar
This academic calendar template follows common patterns used by Indian law schools and UP state universities: two teaching semesters (Odd: July–December; Even: January–May), mid-semester assessments, end-semester exams, and notified vacations. Final dates will be published after affiliating university circulars.
Odd Semester (July–December)
- Admissions & Registration: Mid–July to July-end for new entrants; returning batches by third week of July.
- Induction/Orientation (UGC guidelines): One-week programme in the last week of July for first-year students.
- Commencement of Classes: Last week of July for first year; late July/early August for senior batches.
- Holidays (illustrative): Independence Day (15 Aug), Janmashtami, Gandhi Jayanti (2 Oct), Dussehra/Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti (as per govt calendar).
- Mid-Semester Assessments: Mid to late September; results within 1–2 weeks of completion.
- Project/Internals Deadlines: Late October to early November for submissions and viva.
- Last Teaching Day: Late November.
- End-Semester Exams: Early to mid-December; evaluation targeted within a week post exams where mandated.
- Result Declaration: Mid to late December, or by early January where applicable.
- Winter Break: Mid-December/after exams to mid-January (as notified).
Even Semester (January–May)
- Commencement of Classes: Third to fourth week of January.
- Academic Activities: Workshops, moots, legal aid camps scheduled through Feb–April per activity calendar.
- Mid-Semester Assessments: March; results by late March/early April.
- Preparatory Leave: Late April to early May (about a week).
- End-Semester Exams: May; evaluation begins alongside exams where directed.
- Results: By early to mid-June, subject to university timelines.
- Summer Break: Late May/June to July start; internships recommended during this period.
Rolling Academic Milestones
- Internship Windows: Winter break (short-term) and summer break (core internships).
- Moot Court & ADR Calendar: Internal rounds Aug–Oct; external competitions across both semesters.
- Legal Aid & Outreach: Community clinics scheduled monthly; special drives before festivals/exams.
- Faculty Development/Workshops: Slotted mid-semester without disrupting teaching weeks.
Evaluation & Compliance
- Continuous Internal Evaluation: Class tests, projects, viva, drafting files as per course plan.
- Attendance & Integrity: Monitored throughout; university rules for eligibility and conduct apply.
- Academic Calendar Publication: Activity calendar uploaded on website per state directives; updates communicated via notices.
Notes
- Dates are indicative; final schedule depends on the affiliating university and government holiday notifications.
- Any changes due to examinations/elections/public directives will be updated on the website and notice boards promptly.
